Seventeen centuries old, this town changed its name and its soul many times. It has always been the town of fishermen, sailors, miners and tourist and hotel workers, who welcome more then 300.000 tourists every year.

The beautiful town is dominated by the church of Saint Euphemia, a baroque edifice built in the 18th century. On the top of the bell tower there is the statue of Saint Euphemia which revolving on its axis, has been showing the weather prospects to her fishermen for more than three centuries.

All the Rovinj coast and the surrounding twenty-two islands and isles are a protected natural heritage. There is the island of Katarina for those who are looking for the sun, sea, clean air, peace and shady spot. The island of Crveni Otok (red Island) is known as Flower Island too, because of its lavish vegetaion. The coast and the Rovinj islands are lined with well-equipped marinas, harbours and little ports. There are a lot of catering and tourist facilities, hotels and holiday villages.

Comfort and furnishing might be alike here and in Munich, Milan or Vienna, but here - regardless of wether you relax in abigger or smaller hotel, camp or apartment-there is always the particular healthy scent from the Adriatic clime coming in through your open windows.
